Q: What if I have a large deductible to meet first?

I recommend that you utilize the cash rate. I will be happy to submit a letter to your insurance company stating the money you have paid toward meeting your deductible, either biannually or annually.  Please call me (509) 448-5660 if you have further questions.

Q: Do you work with my employer’s ‘Flexible Spending Accounts’?

Yes. I am happy to submit, in writing, details regarding money you have paid toward your behavioral or mental health.. I respect your privacy and send those letters to you for approval and to submit to the appropriate party. No private information is shared apart from a possible diagnosis which has been usually already been discussed. Please give me at least a week to produce such documentation.

Q: What if I couldn’t find your name or your company’s name as a preferred provider?

I currently bill insured clients through my insurance supervisor, Judy Thornton, LCSW, Clinical Director of Heart to Heart Counseling & Coaching. Judy has passed the supervisory requirements for the State of Washington and works as a supervisor with me for those wishing to bill their insurance. Judy has insurance contracts with most health insurance companies, with the exception of Molina and Medicaid (other than Basic Health thru Group Health).. Please look for my insurance supervisor’s name; Judy Thornton, LCSW under either ‘counselors’ or ‘independent social workers’ or the company name of Heart to Heart Counseling. Still having difficulty? Please call me at (509) 448-5660.

Q: What if I have Medicare disability or am retired on Medicare?

I am able to accept Medicare. Please call me at (509) 448-5660 for details.

Q: What if I have Molina or Medicaid (other than Group Health assigned Basic Health)?

These public assistance plans require the subscriber to use the Regional Service Network of either Lutheran Family Services, Catholic Charities or Spokane Mental Health. They have great counselors. Whether they have a certified clinical hypnotherapist on staff would be the question to ask if you are specifically seeking hypnotherapy.  If you are unsure if hypnotherapy would even help and you have these insurance forms, please feel free to call me at (509) 448-5660.

You deserve any and all information that could help you decide the who, what and how much of your challenge. Let’s clarify that! I am able to accept Group Health assigned Basic Health.

Q: Will your insurance supervisor be sitting in on our sessions?

No.

Q: What information will you be sharing with your insurance supervisor?

The beauty of an insurance supervisor is having a well skilled counselor to discuss challenging cases with. Judy helps me to understand what insurance companies require to work within her contract with them and brings an understanding of being a highly experienced psychotherapist (talk therapy). Judy is bound by the rules of confidentiality, as am I. Judy, while not a certified clinical hypnotherapist, understands  plans of care, ethical dilemmas and special populations while utilizing a client centered, strengths perspective approach. Identifying information such as names, are not the issue when Judy and I discuss cases.
